The city of Ica is located 303 Kms. south of Lima and at an elevation of 406 meters above sea level and has an approximated population of 100,000 inhabitants

Historicaly Ica was populated by many important precolumbian cultures like the Nazca, Paracas and Chincha, many of their remains can be seen today, such as the famous Nazca Lines and the citadels of Cahuachi and Tambo Colorado.

Geographically Ica is located in the Atacama Dessert of the coast of the Pacific Ocean, it has many places of natural beauty such as Paracas National Reserve, which includes the famous Ballestas Islands, the San Fernando Bay and the oasis of La Huacachina.

Ica is world known for the excelence of its Piscos and wines, but it also produces cotton and asparagus among many other crops.
