The South of Peru offers a wide and rich variety of handicrafts, according to its ethnic and geographic diversity. We have ponchos, sweaters, hats, gloves and many other items that are weaved by the local people with llama, alpaca and sheep wool. Musical instruments such as quenas, zampoñas, guitars and charangos are there for the musician's delight. Fine works in wood, like the famous "Retablos" from Ayacucho, stone, metal, clay and leather atest the quality and artistic nature of the people of South Peru.

South Peruvian cuisine is color, flavor, history and tradition all in one. The result of many fusions and transformations dating from Inka times, later incorporating the Spanish element (which in turn carried with it Latin, Arabic, Greek, Celtic and Gothic components), followed by the African slave labor factor and later by the Chinese and Japanese ingredients, to be what it is today: unique, delicious and irresistible.

We could start out in the beautiful colonial city of Moquegua and its famous “Ruta del Pisco”, a circuitous route that crisscrosses the city taking us through wineries and cellars that over the course of centuries have perfected the elaboration of Peru’s national spirituous drink: Pisco -a brandy distilled from different varieties of grapes not used in the making of wine. The Moquegua Valley possesses the particularity of being one of those valleys in the entire world endowed the most hours of sunshine per year.
